What You’ll Do

This entry-level Electrical Engineer will work on power and industrial projects under the direction of a project lead, contributing to design, analysis, and procurement activities across retrofit and new-generation installations.

  • Support power distribution design for medium- and low-voltage systems (transformers, generators, motors).
  • Prepare functional design drawings (single line, relay/metering, cable block, schematics) and documentation for 3-D modeling and drawing production.
  • Perform detailed electrical calculations including auxiliary power studies, voltage drop, protective relay settings, and arc flash calculations.
  • Prepare equipment specifications and bills of material; coordinate with vendors and recommend equipment to the client.
  • Coordinate systems design activities with project teams to meet specifications, codes, and client requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews and, when needed, travel to client/vendor offices or plant sites for construction coordination and field verification.
  • Learn and develop professionally through peer-learning and participation in Communities of Practice.

Who You Are / Qualifications

Essential qualifications:

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering (emphasis in power systems preferred).
  • Familiarity with electrical system design and equipment selection for medium- and low-voltage distribution.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for producing technical plans and models.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work in a team-based project environment and occasional travel to client sites.

Preferred Skills

  • Degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam completed / Engineer-in-Training designation.
  • Experience in project-team electrical system design for new plants or plant modifications (equipment selection, control philosophy, calculations and specifications).
  • Programming or scripting (Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel) to automate calculations or design checks is valued but not required.

Work Schedule & Location

  • Location: Schiller Park, IL (hybrid schedule).
  • On-site requirement: Approximately 3 days per week in office.
  • Occasional travel to client/vendor offices and plant sites for reviews and field verification.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $62,998 - $90,586 (annual).

  • Confidential Client discloses compensation in compliance with applicable law. Eligible roles may also participate in a discretionary annual bonus.
