What You’ll Do

This entry-level Electrical Engineer (Nuclear) role is an opportunity to apply your academic training in electrical engineering on real nuclear power projects, learning from experienced engineers while contributing to electrical power system designs and technical deliverables.

  • Work on electrical systems design for nuclear projects, including power distribution and equipment selection
  • Prepare complex calculations: load flow, short-circuit analysis, power flow, system impact, and cable ampacity
  • Produce documented design inputs, equipment and material specifications, and design reports
  • Support power distribution design and prepare procurement specifications for major electrical equipment and related installation services
  • Participate in design reviews with clients and vendors; travel to plant sites for construction coordination and field verification as required
  • Receive training and mentorship; take engineering problems from issue to solution using data, automation, and verification
  • Use or develop automation (scripting, templates, or tools) to improve workflows and reduce rework while applying sound engineering judgment

Qualifications

Essential

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Understanding of the practical application of electrical engineering principles and design techniques
  • Familiarity with producing technical plans, drawings, and models
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Valued but not required

  • Degree from an ABET-accredited program
  • Internship or hands-on experience performing power analysis in the power industry
  • Experience with transient or power-system analysis software (ETAP, SKM, etc.)
  • Programming/scripting to automate calculations or reports (Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel)
  • Coursework or training in Computer Science, AI, or Software Engineering that supports automation or data-driven design

Note: candidates should be willing to use modern tools (automation and AI-assisted workflows) with appropriate engineering verification.

  • Compensation range: $62,998 - $90,586 (base salary)
