Role Overview
This entry-level Electrical Engineer (FPGA) position is an onsite, full-time role based in Marlborough, MA. The confidential client operates in the engineering — aerospace & defense — space. This role focuses on RTL/FPGA digital design, verification, and system integration supporting communications, security, and space-based products. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance are required.
What You’ll Do
- Support requirements capture and FPGA digital architecture for embedded systems.
- Implement FPGA digital design using RTL (VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog).
- Perform RTL simulation and support verification activities for FPGA implementations.
- Assist with system integration and validation of FPGA-based subsystems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and follow established engineering processes.

Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM discipline completed by the start date.
- Experience or familiarity with RTL coding and simulation in VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog (coursework, projects, or on-the-job experience qualifies).
- Ability to work with limited supervision and integrate into multi-discipline project teams on aggressive schedules.
- U.S. citizenship is required; candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance (DoD Secret). An active or existing clearance is preferred/required per client notes.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Hands-on experience with FPGA toolchains (e.g., ModelSim, Quartus, Vivado).
- Programming experience in C, MATLAB, and scripting languages for verification and test automation.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, Subversion).
- Prior internships or co-op experience in firmware/FPGA design.
- Leadership experience or demonstrated project ownership.
- Strong interest in the firmware design lifecycle and system-level integration.
