What You’ll Do

As an entry-level Electrical Engineer on our client’s Nuclear Power team, you will support design and modernization efforts for nuclear generating stations, restart projects, small modular reactors (SMRs), and advanced reactor facilities. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers and subject matter experts to deliver safe, code-compliant electrical engineering work while gaining practical experience and professional mentorship.

  • Assist with engineering calculations and design tasks for large nuclear power stations, including protection and coordination studies, cable sizing, medium and low voltage system design, and DC battery sizing
  • Perform power systems analysis and transient studies using industry tools such as ETAP (or similar)
  • Support selection, specification, and integration of electrical equipment: switchgear, motor control centers (MCCs), large power transformers, breakers, and relays
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, designers, and drafters to translate concepts into drawings and project deliverables
  • Participate in station walkdowns, installation and testing activities, and outage support as required by the project
  • Learn engineering processes, industry standards, and the documentation practices required for nuclear projects
  • Receive mentoring toward professional licensure (FE/PE path) and perform preparer duties under supervision

Qualifications

Essential

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s of Science in Electrical Engineering with coursework or strong background in power systems analysis
  • Understanding of electrical engineering principles and practical application to project work
  • Basic proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn in a team environment
  • We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position.

Valued but not required

  • Degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program
  • Power coursework (Power Systems Analysis, Electric Machinery, Power Electronics)
  • Internship or practical experience performing power analysis in the power sector
  • Experience with ETAP, SKM, or similar transient/power system analysis tools
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or EIT designation

Compensation

Compensation Range: $62,998 - $90,586 per year (base salary range disclosed by our client). Total compensation may include bonuses and benefits. This range complies with applicable pay transparency requirements.
