Position Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Electrical Engineer (Digital Hardware Design) — Electrical Engineer 1 (RCP Hardware) — to join their onsite engineering team in Cedar Rapids, IA. This role focuses on digital circuit/card assembly design and lab integration for avionics computer systems. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance are required.


What You’ll Do

  • Design, analyze, simulate, and test Circuit Card Assemblies (processors, FPGAs, memory, and high-speed interfaces) for avionics computers.
  • Perform schematic capture for mixed-signal digital/analog designs.
  • Operate lab equipment and conduct integration and verification testing of hardware designs.
  • Collaborate with Systems, Software, Mechanical, Environmental Effects, and Manufacturing teams to meet product requirements.
  • Apply basic thermal management, testability, and high-speed digital design practices.

Qualifications — You Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM degree completed prior to start.
  • Familiarity with electronic circuit development and multi-assembly/system-level design.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance (DoD Secret). An active/existing clearance is required by day 1 for some positions.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience taking concepts from block diagrams or requirements into complete hardware designs, including verification and integration.
  • Familiarity with schematic-capture tools and the PCB design process.
  • Experience with signal integrity, power integrity, and analog simulation tools.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to manage assigned tasks independently.

Location & Work Type

  • Worksite: Cedar Rapids, IA (onsite role). Employees in onsite roles work primarily at the facility to support product development and production.
