What You’ll Do
confidential client is seeking an entry-level Electrical / Computer Engineer to join a growing Avionics FPGA/ASIC team in Cedar Rapids. You will work on design, implementation, verification and integration of high-performance ASICs, FPGAs, and SoPCs for avionics displays, computing, and networking solutions.
- Develop digital architecture for ASIC/FPGA/SoPC designs
- Write RTL and testbenches in VHDL, Verilog, and/or SystemVerilog
- Build UVM constrained-random verification environments (SystemVerilog)
- Run synthesis, place & route flows and static timing analysis
- Perform linting, LEC and clock-domain-crossing analysis
- Verify designs using simulation, inspection, and laboratory test methods
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and validate hardware
Qualifications — Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related STEM major by start date
- Experience writing RTL and test benches with VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog (classroom, project, or on-the-job)
- Familiarity with FPGA/ASIC tools (examples: Questasim, Vivado, Libero, Synplify Pro)
- Understanding of data interfaces such as PCIe, DDR, I2C, Ethernet, CAN, ARINC-429
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of UVM constrained-random methodology
- Familiarity with DO-254 processes and design assurance for ASIC/FPGA/SoPC
- Experience or coursework in video and/or networking architectures
- Awareness of chip-level verification techniques (functional/code coverage, LEC)
- Basic risk management skills: identify, quantify, mitigate
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD (good-faith estimate for all experience levels)
