What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Electrical Designer to develop core electrical design skills within a collaborative engineering team. This hands-on role focuses on Revit modeling, project documentation, coordination with leads, and learning fundamental electrical systems.
- Primarily model electrical systems in Revit (panels, lighting fixtures, receptacles, conduits) from redlines or design guidance
- Execute project setups and maintain model organization in Revit
- Design, layout, and coordinate electrical equipment and components at the room/plan level
- Participate in mentorship with lead engineers to learn design intent and engineering principles for the built environment
- Autonomously complete delegated design tasks and check work against design standards prior to issuance
- Assist in developing the Table of Contents and content for Division 26 specifications
- Learn and perform basic system sizing calculations (loads, voltage drop, short-circuit, conduit/cable sizing) under supervision
- Collaborate in QA/QC reviews per the firm’s design process
- Observe and participate in client and project team meetings alongside project designers/leads
- Work across project types and sectors to build broad, generalist experience
- Track and estimate time for assigned work as part of the DWP process
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a directly related field or equivalent experience required
- Written and verbal communication skills appropriate to the role
- Revit experience preferred; comfort with drafting/modeling software is important
- Proficient with common office tools (word processing, spreadsheets, email)
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, flexible, curious, and able to work well under deadlines
- Strong organizational skills preferred
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing, by phone, and via video conferencing
- Adequate visual acuity to perform design and review work
