Role Overview

Join a confidential client in the Engineering industry as an entry-level Electrical Designer. This hybrid, full-time contractor role provides hands-on CAD/BIM experience, mentor-led training through an Engineering Development Training (EDT) program, and regular exposure to field work and cross-discipline coordination.


What You’ll Do

As an Electrical Designer (Entry Level) you will:

  • Support engineering teams on design and documentation for new installations, retrofits, replacements, and upgrades
  • Perform CAD/BIM drafting (MEP AutoCAD required; REVIT a plus)
  • Learn drawing organization, company standards, and documentation workflows
  • Coordinate with architecture and other trades under senior engineer guidance
  • Assist with field investigations, construction site observations, and project coordination meetings
  • Participate in the Engineering Development Training (EDT) program and related seminars
  • Use design and calculation tools and standard office software (MS Office suite)

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will be a recent or upcoming graduate who enjoys collaboration, learning, and working both independently and on teams.

  • Bachelor’s degree (or completing degree) in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering — graduation date Winter 2026, Spring or Summer 2027
  • Previous engineering internship or related experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of the latest MEP AutoCAD version; REVIT experience helpful
  • Familiarity with CAD/BIM drafting and standard engineering documentation
  • Proficient with MS Office and comfortable learning engineering calculation/design tools
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to participate in mentoring and training

Location & Schedule

  • Primary work location: Hamilton Square, NJ (hybrid)
  • Typical schedule: Monday–Thursday in the office (longer day), Friday remote (shorter day / work-from-home)
  • This role includes remote/telecommute elements and may require occasional site visits

Employment Type & Compensation

  • Employment types: Full-time | Contractor
  • Estimated salary (from source listing): $80,249 per year (estimated) — the confidential client will provide final compensation details
  • Participation in the confidential client’s Engineering Development Training (EDT) program and mentorship
