What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Electrical Designer / Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join their engineering team in Minneapolis, MN. You will learn and support the design of electrical systems across commercial and institutional projects, working under the guidance of project managers and senior engineers.
- Develop and maintain familiarity with electrical design principles and CAD/Revit/AutoCAD tools
- Support schematic design tasks: equipment selection, room sizing, and space requirements
- Research equipment options and compile equipment schedules under project direction
- Document existing conditions and assist in producing construction documents
- Assist with calculations (lighting & power distribution, equipment sizing, basic HVAC-related electrical loads)
- Draft details and specialized diagrams (e.g., electrical risers) and assemble specification sections
- Coordinate clearances and structural impacts with the design team and other trades
- Contribute to problem-solving and design development discussions with the project team
What We’re Looking For
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field from an accredited institution (required)
- 0–2 years of relevant experience; entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems and engineering fundamentals
- Proficient with common workplace technology and software (file management, MS Office, etc.)
Nice to Have
- Experience or familiarity with Revit and/or AutoCAD
- Exposure to electrical drafting, equipment schedules, or basic load calculations
Compensation & Work Model
- Base salary: $65,000 - $80,000 annually (range provided by the employer)
- Employment type: Full-time
- Work model: Hybrid (combination of office and remote as determined by the project/team)
Individual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors.
