What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level EHS Coordinator for heavy civil construction projects in Queens, NY. This role supports project teams with on-site safety, environmental awareness, and regulatory compliance. You will be the frontline safety resource on project sites, working with project leadership and subcontractors to maintain a safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site safety support and technical assistance to project teams.
- Conduct safety inspections, site walkthroughs, and hazard assessments.
- Help develop and enforce site-specific safety plans and procedures.
- Track and report safety metrics, incident/near-miss reports, and corrective actions.
- Support subcontractor safety oversight and toolbox talks.
- Assist with OSHA and other regulatory compliance documentation.
- Participate in project safety meetings and safety training delivery.
- Champion safe work practices and model strong safety behaviors on site.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S), or equivalent relevant experience.
- Broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through formal education or trade experience.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with craft workers, supervisors, and client representatives.
- Willingness to work outdoors on heavy civil construction sites and travel locally as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in construction or coming from trades is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with OSHA construction standards and common safety practices.
- Certifications such as OSHA 10/30, First Aid/CPR, or similar safety credentials.
- Demonstrated ability to lead toolbox talks and basic training sessions.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: USD $67,600 – $90,000 per year (range provided by Confidential Client).

Location & Schedule
