This Opportunity

Confidential Client is hiring an Early Professional Civil Engineer focused on transmission line design for projects in and around Tarrytown, TX. This entry-level role supports the Power & Energy team by assisting with design, documentation, site verification, and project delivery tasks for overhead transmission line projects.

  • Provide entry-level technical support for the design, development, and construction of overhead transmission line projects.
  • Help collect, compile, and analyze field data, surveys, blueprints, GIS layers, subsurface utility information, maps, and geotechnical reports.
  • Assist with site inspections and research to verify conditions and ensure conformance with applicable codes, permits, and standards.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, drawings, and field logs using electronic systems and engineering notebooks.
  • Support basic engineering design tasks and operating strategy reviews with guidance from senior staff.
  • Follow project-specific health, safety, and environmental procedures while on site and in the office.
  • Complete assigned training and development activities; perform additional duties as business needs require.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • 0–1 years of relevant experience (recent graduates and internships welcome).
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with design/build concepts and basic civil construction laws, codes, and compliance practices.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills; able to explain technical topics to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, able to multi-task and prioritize in a dynamic environment.
  • Basic proficiency with technical writing, office productivity software, and spreadsheets.
  • Authorized to work in the United States immediately; occasional travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • Familiarity with discipline-specific design software (examples: MicroStation, AutoCAD, PLS‑CADD, PLS‑Pole, MFAD, Sag10).
  • Relevant internship or practical experience in transmission line or civil engineering.
  • Active participation in local professional organizations is a plus.
