What You’ll Do
Join the Confidential Client’s Earth & Environment team to support field-based biological and environmental work across project sites in and around East View, NY. This entry-level role focuses on data collection, site assessments, documentation, and supporting technical teams to meet client and regulatory objectives.
- Conduct biological natural-resource field surveys for vegetation, wetlands, wildlife, marine, terrestrial, botanical, and avian species.
- Collect and record observational and spatial data using GPS and electronic field systems.
- Collect and prepare samples (air, soil, water, sludge) and maintain chain-of-custody and lab documentation.
- Maintain quality control procedures for accurate measurement and data recording.
- Assist with basic ecological and environmental analyses and verification of site characteristics.
- Produce clear, concise documentation and reports for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Follow site-specific safety procedures and company policies (including health, safety, and drug/alcohol policies).
- Participate in training and use modern field technologies and techniques.
- Travel to project sites as required and work flexible schedules to meet project needs.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or a related life-sciences field.
- Demonstrated familiarity with field research techniques, local/regional ecology and habitats, and applicable State and Federal protection regulations.
- Strong attention to detail, good organization, and the ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment.
- Clear interpersonal and written communication skills for both scientific and non-scientific audiences.
- Basic proficiency with office software and common field data-collection tools; willingness to learn GIS/GPS tools.
- Ability to work independently with general supervision and collaboratively on project teams.
- Willingness to work variable hours and travel occasionally for project needs.
Preferred:
- Active participation or membership in local professional practice organizations.
- Prior field survey or environmental monitoring experience; familiarity with chain-of-custody and sample handling.

Compensation & Location
- Estimated salary range: $63,000 - $78,700 per year (listed by the Confidential Client).
