What You’ll Do

As an early-career Water Resources Engineer with Confidential Client, you will support technical analyses, design tasks, and data collection that help plan and protect water resources and stormwater infrastructure. This is an entry-level, hands-on engineering role with mentoring and opportunities to develop technical modeling and field skills.

• Collect, compile, and document environmental and water-quality data from water, sludge, and other sample matrices.
• Support hydrologic and hydraulic analyses (e.g., rainfall-runoff, open-channel flow, culvert and bridge hydraulics).
• Assist with stormwater facility and irrigation design tasks and prepare design documentation.
• Help produce floodplain and flood-risk modeling and mapping deliverables.
• Maintain quality-control procedures and accurate records, including field notebooks and electronic systems.
• Support river/stream restoration, fish passage, pollution control, and water-supply studies as assigned.
• Follow site-specific safety procedures and maintain sample chain-of-custody, location data, and statistical logs.
• Complete assigned training and produce clear, concise technical documentation for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Perform additional duties required by project needs under general supervision.

Who You Are — Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (water-resources focus preferred) or closely related discipline.
• Strong research and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with basic water-resources concepts: hydrology, hydraulics, stormwater, water quality/management.
• Awareness of environmental regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping.
• Clear verbal and written communication; ability to present technical ideas to engineers and non-engineers.
• Self-motivated, able to prioritize tasks and work independently under general supervision or collaboratively in teams.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, spreadsheets, predictive models, and common office software.
• Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to Confidential Client’s Code of Conduct and policies.
• Willingness to work project-driven schedules; occasional travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
• Related internship experience in water-resources or environmental engineering.
• Active participation in local professional organizations.

Location & Logistics

• Location: Houston, TX (on-site / office-based as required by projects).
• Employment type: Full-time.
• Compensation: Estimated at approximately $69,374 per year (as provided by the source).
• Occasional travel and non-standard hours may be required depending on project timelines.
