What You’ll Do

Confidential Client seeks an entry-level Mechanical Engineer to support mission-critical and data-center projects in Manhattan, NY. Under general supervision you will support design, field assessment, documentation, and basic analyses for mechanical systems including HVAC, hydronic, plumbing, and controls used in high-availability facilities.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from job sites, surveys, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Support basic mechanical engineering tasks such as load calculations, equipment selection, and system operating strategy development.
  • Participate in site inspections and help verify conformance with codes, standards, and permit requirements.
  • Produce accurate, concise documentation and specifications, and maintain field/worksite logs.
  • Assist with design-related research, concept development, and coordination with multidisciplinary team members.
  • Follow safety and site-specific procedures; complete assigned training.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as required to meet project needs.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • 0–1 years of relevant post-education experience (entry-level).
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Familiarity with design/build concepts and applicable mechanical system codes, regulations, and compliance practices.
  • Basic proficiency with technical writing, spreadsheets, and office software.
  • Familiarity with discipline-specific design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, CAM) is preferred.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision and collaboratively within a team.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with company policies.
  • Ability to work schedules that may extend beyond a typical workweek; occasional travel may be required.
  • Ability to work in the United States immediately.

Preferred

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • Relevant internship experience.
  • Active participation in local professional practice organizations.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Expected salary range: $72,700 - $100,000 per year (range provided in good faith; final offer may vary based on experience, internal equity, and location).
  • Benefits typically include medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, retirement savings, paid sick leave, paid vacation, parental leave, and paid time off for bereavement, voting, and naturalization proceedings.
  • Additional details will be provided by Confidential Client during the hiring process.

Location & Work Authorization

  • Job location: Manhattan, NY (on-site / project-based work).
  • Candidates must have authorization to work in the United States immediately.
