What You’ll Do
This is an entry-level Mechanical Engineering role supporting building and property projects. Under general supervision, you will assist project teams with mechanical system design, field data collection, documentation, and basic engineering analysis.
- Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing field/site data, blueprints, schematics, and technical reports for project development, design, and construction.
- Support basic mechanical engineering tasks: load calculations, HVAC system layouts, hydronic and plumbing system coordination, and control strategies.
- Help perform site inspections and research to verify existing conditions and confirm conformance with codes and project specifications.
- Produce clear, concise documentation, drawings, field notes, and specifications using electronic tools and CAD software.
- Complete assigned training, follow project-specific safety procedures, and maintain accurate records.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams and communicate technical information to engineering and non-engineering audiences.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet project and business needs.
Who You Are
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- 0–1 years of relevant post-degree experience (internships included).
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Familiarity with mechanical systems for buildings (HVAC, hydronics, plumbing) and basic design/build concepts.
- Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and compliance practices.
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, spreadsheets, and office/engineering software.
- Familiarity with discipline-specific design software (e.g., AutoCAD, CAM).
- Good verbal and written communication skills; able to collaborate on multidisciplinary teams.
- Self-driven, detail-oriented, able to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Willingness to work schedules suited to project needs; occasional travel may be required.
- Commitment to workplace safety and professional conduct.
Preferred qualifications
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
- Prior internship or co-op experience in mechanical/buildings engineering.
- Active participation in local professional organizations.
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated salary: $72,700 - $100,000 per year (provided by the hiring organization).
- Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, retirement savings, paid time off, parental leave, and other standard employer-provided benefits.
- The final pay and benefits offer will depend on experience, education, internal equity, and location.
