What You’ll Do
You will support mission-critical and data-center mechanical engineering projects under general supervision. Typical responsibilities include:
- Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from site visits, surveys, blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and reports to support project design and construction.
- Provide entry-level mechanical engineering support for research, inspections, and verification of existing and proposed site conditions and equipment.
- Perform routine engineering tasks such as basic load calculations, equipment selection checks, and development of operating strategies for HVAC, hydronic, and plumbing systems.
- Support design documentation: prepare clear and concise drawings, specifications, field notebooks, and electronic records.
- Assist with integration and commissioning support for automatic temperature control, air distribution, and related mechanical systems.
- Follow site-specific safety procedures and comply with applicable codes, standards, and permitting requirements.
- Complete assigned training and participate in team meetings; perform other duties as required by business needs.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- 0–1 years of relevant post-education experience (entry-level / recent graduate).
- Strong analytical and research skills with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with mechanical systems common to buildings and mission-critical facilities — HVAC, hydronics, air distribution, and plumbing systems.
- Basic understanding of design/build processes, applicable codes, regulations, and compliance practices.
- Competent verbal and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently under general supervision and collaboratively on project teams.
- Basic proficiency with office software, spreadsheets, and technical writing; familiarity with discipline-specific software (e.g., AutoCAD, CAM).
- Willingness to follow health, safety, and site-specific procedures; ability to work schedules that may extend beyond a typical workweek.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project needs.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
- Relevant internship experience tied to the degree/discipline.
- Active participation in local professional organizations.
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated base pay: $116,735 per year (estimated).
