What You’ll Do
This role supports a confidential client in the Engineering industry on transportation and roadway design projects. You will assist project teams with design tasks, site assessments, documentation, and basic engineering analyses under general supervision.
- Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing site data, surveys, GIS layers, subsurface utility information, maps, and geotechnical reports.
- Support geometric roadway design, complete streets elements, temporary traffic control planning, and limited-access highway design tasks.
- Produce plan sets, technical drawings, and supporting documentation using electronic design tools.
- Perform entry-level civil engineering tasks such as site inspections, field verification, and code/regulation checks.
- Prepare clear, complete technical notes, reports, and design calculations.
- Follow site- and project-specific safety and QA/QC procedures.
- Complete assigned training and follow the confidential client’s code of conduct and policies.
- Support client-facing deliverables and collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams.
Qualifications
Required (minimum):
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- 0–1 years post‑education relevant experience (entry-level).
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with design/build concepts and basic civil construction regulations and record-keeping.
- Competent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Effective self-management, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
- Basic proficiency with office software, spreadsheets, and technical writing.
- Willingness to work outside normal hours when project needs require; occasional travel as needed.
- Ability to adhere to workplace health, safety, and professional conduct policies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree emphasis in Highway / Transportation Engineering.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or working toward it.
- Familiarity with discipline-specific tools such as MicroStation, ArcGIS, and OpenRoads.
- Prior internship or co-op experience in transportation/highway engineering.
- Active membership or participation in local professional organizations.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $63,800 — $85,000 (base, annual). This range was provided by the confidential client and may vary based on experience, location, and other factors.
- Benefits typically include medical, dental, vision, life/disability coverage, retirement savings options, paid time off, parental leave, and other standard programs offered by the confidential client.
Location & Travel
- Role will be based to support projects in the posting area. Occasional travel to project sites may be required depending on assignment needs.
