What You’ll Do

This is an entry-level geological/geotechnical engineering role supporting mine engineering, earth & environment, and related projects. Under general supervision you will:

  • Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing field and laboratory data — soil, rock, water, and other site samples.
  • Support subsurface investigations, soil/foundation engineering, settlement analysis, slope stability, and geological hazard assessments.
  • Maintain quality-control procedures and accurate documentation (field logs, drawings, electronic records).
  • Help produce basic geotechnical and civil engineering deliverables for design and construction support.
  • Use and learn discipline-specific software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, ArcGIS, GeoSlope).
  • Follow site-specific safety, health, and environmental procedures.
  • Complete assigned training and perform other duties as required to meet project and team goals.

What We’re Looking For (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geological Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • 0–1 years of relevant post-education experience (entry-level).
  • Strong analytical and research skills; attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with basic design and construction concepts and geotechnical principles.
  • Clear written and oral communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision and collaboratively on project teams.
  • Basic proficiency with office software and technical writing.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as project needs require and to work flexible schedules when needed.
  • Must successfully complete motor-vehicle screening and meet client safety/drug & alcohol policies.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or progress toward licensure.
  • Prior internship or related practical experience in geotechnical/geological projects.
  • Active participation in local professional organizations or student chapters.
  • Familiarity with specialized tools such as RocScience, HEC-RAS/HEC-HMS.

Compensation & Location

  • Estimated salary: $83,116 per year (estimated).
  • Location: Fort Logan, CO (position may also consider other nearby office locations per client need).
  • Employment type: Full-time.
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project assignments.
