What You’ll Do

This entry-level Environmental Scientist role supports field and technical work that informs environmental planning, permitting, and compliance. You will work with project teams to collect high-quality observational, spatial, and physical samples, help maintain documentation and QA/QC, and assist with basic environmental analyses.

• Under general supervision, conduct natural resource field surveys and collect observational and spatial data.
• Collect and compile samples of air, soil, water, sludge, and other matrices for laboratory analysis.
• Maintain quality control standards and procedures to ensure accurate measurements and documentation.
• Assist with basic environmental science tasks related to ecological systems, water and air resources, and site characterization.
• Produce complete, accurate field notes and electronic records using field notebooks and data systems.
• Follow site-specific safety procedures and company health and safety policies.
• Use current technologies and techniques for habitat and impact assessments.
• Complete assigned training and perform additional responsibilities as needed to meet project objectives.

Who You Are

Required qualifications and competencies for success in this position:

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Natural Resource Management, or a related life sciences field.
• Familiarity with research techniques, local/regional ecology and habitats, and applicable species/discipline.
• Basic knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Effective interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills for scientific and non-scientific audiences.
• Ability to work independently under general supervision and collaboratively as part of a project team.
• Basic proficiency with office software and field data-collection technology.
• Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to health, safety, and drug/alcohol policies.
• Willingness to work schedules that may extend beyond the typical workweek and to travel occasionally as project needs require.

Preferred

• Active participation or membership in local professional practice organizations.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary range: $55,200 - $75,900 per year (Confidential Client provides this range as a good-faith estimate; actual pay may vary based on experience, location, and other factors).
• Comprehensive benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, retirement savings, paid time off, parental leave, and other standard benefits administered by the hiring organization.
