What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an early-career electrical engineer to support power delivery projects. Typical duties include:
- Perform electrical studies and develop/troubleshoot SCADA systems for utility, industrial, and commercial clients.
- Support protective-relaying analyses: short-circuit and symmetrical component studies, time-current coordination, relay setting calculations, integration with SCADA, NERC compliance, and arc-flash analysis.
- Conduct power system planning studies: steady-state real/reactive power flow, outage contingencies, generation interconnect feasibility, voltage stability (P-V/Q-V), and dynamic stability analysis.
- Complete design studies: substation grounding, insulation coordination, transient simulations, power quality (harmonics, flicker), motor starting, and AC interference assessments.
- Design and configure communications and networking for RTUs, relays, meters, HMIs, PLCs; develop specs for fiber, microwave, power-line carrier, or radio links; troubleshoot and commission field systems.
- Develop logic and control schemes and implement/program on platforms used for protective relays and RTACs; participate in field testing and commissioning.
- Prepare data acquisition point lists, program addressing/routing, and design HMI screens; support onsite testing and commissioning.
- Support senior engineers with technical research, equipment recommendations, and detailed technical reporting.
- Assist project teams across controls, construction, procurement, document control, and permitting tasks.
- Complete assigned training and other duties as required.
Who You Are — Required Qualifications
- Recent engineering graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or currently enrolled in an accredited engineering program.
- Analytical mindset with good judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication; able to explain technical topics to engineering and non-engineering audiences.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Basic technical writing skills and proficiency with office software, spreadsheets, and engineering tools.
- Commitment to workplace safety and ability to follow health, safety, drug/alcohol, and anti-harassment policies.
- Willingness to work project-driven schedules; occasional travel may be required.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Within one year of graduation.
- GPA above 3.0/4.0.
- Coursework or hands-on experience in power systems: three-phase systems, load flow, protective relaying, symmetrical components, transmission theory, transients, and dynamic stability.
- Internship or project experience with SCADA, protective relaying, ETAP, ASPEN Oneliner, PSS/E, PSLF, PowerWorld, PSCAD, ATP-EMTP, CDEGS, or Python scripting.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification and intent to pursue PE licensure.
Compensation & Benefits
- Colorado salary range (provided by Confidential Client): $76,800 — $93,800 per year.

Location & Work Model
- Primary location: Glendale, CO.
- Remote-eligible / Telecommute role with occasional on-site work and travel required for field testing and commissioning.
