This Opportunity

Confidential Client is seeking an Early Career Electrical Engineer to join their Milwaukee, WI team supporting mission-critical and data center projects. In this entry-level role you will contribute to design, documentation, and technical support for transmission/substation, power distribution, protection & control, and related infrastructure work under general supervision.

Your Impact

• Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data for substation components and equipment specifications to support procurement and pricing.
• Support the development and review of single-line and three-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, general arrangement and substation layouts, and bus arrangements.
• Help produce grounding grid designs and lightning protection measures in conformance with applicable rules, standards, and permits.
• Perform routine engineering tasks related to equipment sizing, feeder sizing, voltage drop, lighting circuits, AC/DC panel design, and conduit/trenching strategies.
• Contribute to verification of site characteristics and provide basic technical assistance for testing, maintenance, and construction activities.
• Generate accurate, concise documentation using electronic systems, drawings, and field logs.
• Complete assigned training and follow safety guidelines, site-specific procedures, and record-keeping requirements.
• Exercise ethical decision-making and comply with company policies and professional standards.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by project needs.

Who You Are

• Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 0–1 years of relevant post-education experience (entry-level).
  • Strong research skills with an analytical mindset.
  • General understanding of electrical engineering principles applied to large capital projects.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes, standards, and compliance practices (e.g., IEEE, NESC, NERC).
  • Effective interpersonal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision and collaboratively on teams.
  • Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, spreadsheets, and engineering tools.
  • Familiarity with discipline-specific design software (e.g., CADD, AutoCAD Electrical; exposure to Aspen or CAPE is a plus).
  • Commitment to workplace safety and to complying with health, safety, and conduct policies.
  • Willingness to work project-driven schedules; occasional travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
• Prior internship or co-op experience in an electrical engineering discipline.
• Active participation in local professional engineering organizations.
