Confidential Client is seeking a Full-Time Early Career Electrical Engineer (Distribution) to join their Power & Energy team in Oak Ridge North, TX. This entry-level engineering role supports design, analysis, documentation, and field coordination for substation, distribution, protection & control, and related power-delivery projects across utility, commercial, and industrial clients.

What You’ll Do
- Under general supervision, assist with data collection, compilation, and analysis for substation components and equipment specifications to support procurement and pricing.
- Help produce single-line and three-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, general arrangement drawings, substation layouts, bus arrangements, and grounding/lighting protection designs that meet applicable standards and permits.
- Assist with electrical calculations (loads, equipment sizing, feeder sizing, voltage drop, grounding, lighting circuits and controls, and power distribution).
- Support IFC/IRC design and review processes, and help ensure compliance with IEEE, NESC, and NERC requirements.
- Provide entry-level technical assistance on equipment sizing, cabling strategies, AC/DC panel design, conduit/trenching approaches, and safety considerations.
- Generate accurate documentation using electronic systems, CAD/drawing files, and field notes; maintain concise logs and project records.
- Participate in site visits and verify site characteristics; follow site-specific safety procedures and company policies.
- Complete assigned training and perform additional tasks as needed to meet project objectives.
Who You Are — Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
- 0–1 years of relevant post-education experience (entry-level).
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles as applied to large capital-project design.
- Familiarity with engineering/construction codes, regulations, and compliance documentation practices (e.g., IEEE/NESC/NERC).
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Self-driven, detail-oriented, able to multi-task and prioritize in a dynamic environment.
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, office productivity tools, and spreadsheets.
- Familiarity with discipline-specific design software (for example: CADD, AutoCAD Electrical; exposure to tools like Aspen or CAPE is a plus).
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to health/safety and conduct policies.
- Ability to work schedules that support project needs; occasional travel may be required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
- Internship or prior experience related to electrical engineering and power delivery.
- Active participation in local professional organizations.
