What You’ll Do
This entry-level Civil Engineer will support transmission line and power delivery projects, working in a hybrid environment based in Wellston, MO. You will learn on the job, produce technical documentation, and assist senior engineers with design and field tasks.
- Assist with transmission line design work for new lines, relocations, upgrades, and fiber-optic additions
- Conduct site research and inspections to verify existing conditions and gather location data
- Produce clear, accurate engineering documentation, drawings, and field notes
- Support routine engineering calculations and basic design tasks under supervision
- Follow site-specific safety procedures and company health & safety policies
- Complete assigned training and maintain required records
- Travel occasionally for site visits and project needs
Who We're Looking For — Required Qualifications
We seek a motivated early-career civil engineer with strong communication skills and a willingness to learn.
- BSCE or related degree from an ABET-accredited university
- Strong written and oral English communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- Basic technical writing and office automation skills
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and compliance
- Flexibility to work hours required by project schedules
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
- Minimum GPA of 2.75
- Coursework in structural analysis, concrete, steel, soils, foundations, and surveying
- Prior drafting, design, or construction-related experience (civil/structural)
- Active participation in local professional organizations
