Position Overview
Confidential Client is seeking an Early Career Civil Engineer to join a Power Delivery / Overhead Transmission Lines team supporting projects from conceptual design through construction. This entry-level role is ideal for recent civil engineering graduates or engineers with up to one year of post-degree experience who want hands-on exposure to transmission line projects, site assessments, and technical documentation.
What You’ll Do
- Under general supervision, assist with collecting, compiling and analyzing field/site data (surveys, blueprints, GIS, subsurface utilities, maps, geotechnical reports) used for project development, design and construction.
- Support basic civil engineering tasks including site inspections, research into existing conditions, and checking conformance with codes, permits and standards.
- Provide entry-level technical assistance on design requirements and operating strategies that account for safety and system functionality.
- Verify site characteristics and produce accurate field notes, sketches and documentation.
- Generate clear, concise documentation and drawings using electronic tools and maintain field/worksite logs.
- Follow site-specific safety procedures and company health & safety policies.
- Complete assigned training and participate in team meetings, task planning and reviews.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required to meet project needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (accredited program).
- 0–1 years of relevant post-graduation experience.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Familiarity with design/build concepts and basic civil construction codes, regulations and compliance practices.
- Competent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently under general supervision and collaboratively on project teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and basic technical writing/documentation practices.
- Commitment to workplace safety and ability to follow health, safety, drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Availability for occasional travel and schedule flexibility for project requirements.
- Authorization to work in the United States is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
- Experience or familiarity with discipline-specific software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, InRoads, Geopak or other modeling tools.
- Prior internship or practical experience related to civil/structural engineering.
- Participation in local professional organizations.
- Minimum 2.75 GPA and relevant coursework (structural analysis, soil mechanics, surveying, foundation design, concrete/steel design) are a plus.
- Previous drafting or engineering design experience related to civil or structural projects is desirable.
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated annual pay (for job posting data): $81,477 (estimated). This figure is provided by the source posting and is presented as an estimate.

- Relocation is not available for this role.
