The Early Career Civil Engineer supports the design, development, and construction of public and private infrastructure projects by assisting with data collection, research, inspections, and documentation under general supervision. What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Civil Engineer to support design, development, and construction of public- and private-sector infrastructure projects. Working under general supervision, you will assist project teams with data collection, site inspections, technical documentation, and basic design tasks that help deliver safe, functional infrastructure.
- Support data collection and analysis from field surveys, blueprints, GIS, subsurface utility information, maps, and geotechnical reports
- Perform entry-level research and inspections of existing and proposed site conditions
- Assist with routine civil engineering design tasks and drafting deliverables
- Produce accurate, concise documentation (electronic files, drawings, field notes)
- Follow safety procedures and site-specific guidelines during field work
- Complete assigned training and follow company policies, including ethical conduct and safety standards
- Coordinate with team members to meet project schedules and client requirements
- Travel occasionally to project sites as needed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline
- 0–1 years of relevant experience (recent graduates encouraged to apply)
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Familiarity with design/build concepts, civil construction codes, regulations, and compliance basics
- Clear verbal and written communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences
- Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment
- Comfortable working independently with general supervision and as part of multidisciplinary teams
- Basic proficiency with office software (spreadsheets, word processing) and technical writing
- Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with health, safety, drug/alcohol and harassment policies
- Ability to work schedules that may extend beyond a typical workweek when project needs require it
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
- Familiarity with discipline-specific software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, ArcGIS, InRoads, etc.)
- Prior internship or co-op experience in civil engineering
- Active participation in local professional organizations

- Job location: Lexington, KY (on-site / field work as required)
