What You’ll Do

You will support transmission line design and related civil engineering tasks on utility-scale projects for a Confidential Client. Work under general supervision as part of a project team and contribute to design, documentation, and field verification for new lines, relocations, upgrades, and fiber additions.

  • Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from site visits, surveys, blueprints, GIS, subsurface utility info, maps, and geotechnical reports.
  • Support basic civil engineering design tasks for transmission and distribution infrastructure, substations, and related civil works.
  • Prepare accurate technical documentation, drawings, and field/site logs using electronic systems and CAD/GIS tools.
  • Help verify site characteristics and support permitting, due diligence, and compliance reviews.
  • Follow safety and site-specific procedures; complete assigned training; contribute to team meetings and project reviews.
  • Travel occasionally for site work as project needs require.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or closely related discipline.
  • 0–1 years post‑degree relevant experience (entry-level / early career).
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with design/build concepts and relevant civil construction codes, regulations, and compliance practices.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills; ability to work with engineering and non‑engineering stakeholders.
  • Basic technical writing ability and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks, and work independently under general supervision or within a team.
  • Willingness to work project‑specific schedules; occasional travel required.

Preferred

  • Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification.
  • Coursework or internship experience in structural analysis, concrete and steel design, soil mechanics, foundation design, and surveying.
  • Familiarity with discipline-specific software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, InRoads, Geopak, GeoSlope, ANSYS, STAAD, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS.
  • Participation in local professional organizations.
  • Minimum 2.75 GPA preferred.
