What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Civil Engineer to support transmission line design and related power-delivery projects in Baton Rouge, LA. You will work with project teams to collect field and technical data, assist with design tasks, and produce clear project documentation under general supervision.

  • Assist in transmission line design for new builds, relocations, upgrades, and fiber-optic additions.
  • Collect, compile, and analyze site data (surveys, GIS, blueprints, subsurface utility info, geotechnical data).
  • Support research, inspections, and due-diligence activities to confirm site conditions and code compliance.
  • Produce accurate engineering documentation, drawings, and field notes.
  • Provide entry-level technical input on design requirements and operating strategies focused on safety and functionality.
  • Follow site-specific safety procedures and company policies; complete assigned training.
  • Perform other duties as required to meet project needs.

Who You Are

You are an early-career civil or mechanical engineer eager to grow in transmission line design and power delivery projects. You bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or closely related discipline.
  • 0–1 years of relevant post-education experience.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with design/build concepts and civil construction laws, codes, and compliance practices.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision and collaborate within teams.
  • Basic technical writing and proficiency with office productivity software (Microsoft Office).
  • Willingness to work project-driven schedules; occasional travel may be required.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • Familiarity with discipline-specific design software (MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, InRoads, Geopak, GeoSlope, ANSYS, STAAD, HEC-RAS/HEC-HMS).
  • Relevant internship experience.
  • Active participation in local professional organizations.
  • Minimum 2.75 GPA; coursework in structural analysis, concrete/steel design, soil mechanics, foundation design, and surveying.

  • Location: Baton Rouge, LA (onsite/field as required).

  • Estimated annual salary: $73,551 (estimated).
