Position Summary (brief)

This role supports students with dyslexia through bilingual (Spanish/English) direct instruction, assessment, and collaboration with campus teams. The position is full-time on a 187-day schedule and pays $50 per hour. You will work on-site in San Antonio, TX for a confidential client in the Teaching industry.

What You’ll Do

Provide effective, evidence-based dyslexia intervention and bilingual instruction to K–12 students as assigned. Key responsibilities include:

• Develop and implement standards-aligned lesson plans that reflect accommodations and differentiation for learners with dyslexia.
• Deliver small-group and individualized dyslexia intervention using structured literacy approaches.
• Assess student learning styles and progress; use assessment data to adjust instruction.
• Collaborate with special education staff to modify curriculum and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Supervise and assign tasks to instructional aides and volunteers.
• Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and required documentation.
• Communicate professionally with parents, staff, and community stakeholders.
• Participate in professional development and staff meetings; comply with state and district regulations.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications required for consideration:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or approved training for DOI waiver (if applicable).
• Bilingual (Spanish) proficiency — written and oral communication in English and Spanish required.
• Demonstrated competency in the assigned core academic subject area.
• Valid Texas driver’s license.
• Satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check (fee paid by employee, approx. $50).

• Experience in student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience preferred.
• Knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and classroom management best practices.
• Ability to manage student behavior in alignment with district policies.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with dyslexia screening, intervention strategies, and progress monitoring is highly desirable.
