What You’ll Do
This role is for an entry-level Dry Etch Module Equipment Technician working in Ocotillo Technology Fabrication (Fab52/42/32/12). You will help keep production tools running reliably and support wafer fabrication activities in a high-volume semiconductor environment.
- Perform wafer-production functions including operations, equipment support, process support and training.
- Carry out equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, corrective and preventative repairs to reduce defects and improve yield.
- Use technical manuals, schematics, drawings and written/verbal instructions to diagnose and repair tools using hand and test equipment.
- Collaborate with engineering and process teams to support continuous improvement and root-cause analysis.
- Help create and update technical procedures, specs and documentation related to equipment maintenance and process reliability.
Schedule & Physical Requirements
This position requires shift availability and physical ability to work in a cleanroom environment.
- Compressed work week: three consecutive 12-hour shifts followed by a four-day work week of 12-hour shifts every other week.
- Shift opportunities across Shifts 4, 5, 6, 7 (examples below — final assignment depends on business needs):
- Shift 4 — Night front half of week (PM-AM Sun–Tues) and alternating Saturday nights
- Shift 5 — Days front half of week (AM–PM Sun–Tues) and alternating Wednesday days
- Shift 6 — Night back half of week (PM–AM Wed–Sat) and alternating Saturday nights
- Shift 7 — Days back half of week (AM–PM Thurs–Sat) and alternating Wednesday days
- Work in a cleanroom >90% of shift; required PPE includes coveralls, hood, booties, safety glasses and gloves.
- Must be willing to wear a respirator and to work in proximity to chemicals following all safety procedures.
- Lift up to 35 pounds several times per day; walk roughly 2–4 miles per shift and stand or sit for extended periods; climb ladders as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet at least one of the following:
- High school diploma/GED (or higher) AND 6+ months of Dry Etch 300mm semiconductor equipment maintenance experience OR
- High school diploma/GED (or higher) AND 1+ year technical certification or trade school OR
- High school diploma/GED (or higher) AND 2+ years hands-on technical experience (including military technical experience) OR
- Associate degree — STEM related to semiconductor manufacturing
Preferred Qualifications
- Military technical experience
- Hands-on experience with 300mm semiconductor equipment maintenance and preventative/corrective maintenance
- Experience in dry etch functional area or advanced-node semiconductor manufacturing
- Experience reading schematics, drawings and process-control documentation
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, or equivalent technical education
- Integrated circuit fabrication experience
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary range (US): $44,230.00 - $73,010.00 USD (annual range published for this role; hourly role). Specific starting rate depends on location and shift schedule.
