Overview
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Drainage Project Engineer to join a growing transportation/drainage team in Lawrenceville, GA. This Drainage Project Engineer (Entry Level) role offers hands-on exposure to stormwater drainage design, permitting, and hydrologic/hydraulic (H&H) modeling — ideal for recent civil engineering graduates or engineers early in their careers.
Responsibilities
- Work with a multidisciplinary design team on drainage and stormwater projects.
- Support design of stormwater drainage systems, bridges/culverts, and post-construction stormwater management.
- Assist with H&H modeling (HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HY‑8) and analysis for drainage projects.
- Prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, reports, and engineering calculations related to drainage, E&S control, LID/GI, and stormwater control measures (SCMs).
- Support stormwater permitting efforts and prepare permit documentation.
- Learn and use industry software and tools; participate in on-the-job training.
- Communicate effectively with team members, project managers, and clients.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain EIT registration within 6 months of hire.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- 0–2 years of relevant experience or applicable internships.
- Familiarity with relevant software, such as:
- ArcGIS, MicroStation
- HEC‑HMS, HEC‑RAS, HY‑8
- StormCAD, PondPack, HydraCAD/Hydraflow, FlowMaster, Autodesk SSA, Bentley Storm and Sanitary
- Experience with stormwater permitting, LID/GI, or SCM design is a plus.
- Detail-oriented, collaborative, and motivated to learn technical design workflows.
