What You’ll Do

This Drafter role is responsible for producing accurate construction documents and technical drawings for existing and new retail store locations. You will work closely with a small planning team and coordinate with a remote manager while adhering to corporate drafting standards.

• Create detailed construction documents and plan sets for retail and commercial store locations using AutoCAD
• Translate architectural and interior design concepts into precise technical drawings
• Use MS Excel to log, track, and maintain records of plans and project documentation
• Collaborate with planners and on-site leadership to ensure drawing consistency and alignment with project requirements
• Update and revise drawings based on design changes, field conditions, and feedback
• Apply drafting standards and architectural best practices to all deliverables
• Support interior architecture and design efforts by preparing layouts and plan sets as needed

Required Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD with demonstrable drafting skills
• Experience producing construction documents or technical drawings (including academic projects or internships; 6+ months preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting
• Ability to interpret architectural and interior design intent into technical drawings
• Competence in MS Excel for tracking and organizing project data
• Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with a remote manager and a small team
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple drawings and documentation tasks

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

• Associate of Applied Science (AAS) or Bachelor’s degree in drafting, architecture, or interior design
• Coursework or background in architecture, interior architecture, or interior design
• Experience with MicroStation is a plus
• Understanding of retail or commercial design and architecture principles
• Ability to learn and follow corporate drafting standards and procedures
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret design intent in technical form
