Summary

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level DNA Sequencing Technician to join a high-throughput production laboratory in Louisville, KY. This hands-on role focuses on processing DNA samples, preparing libraries, operating Sanger and Oxford Nanopore sequencing platforms (including ABI 3730xl), and maintaining accurate quality and production records. The shift for this opening is Tuesday–Saturday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM.

What You’ll Do

The lab environment is fast-paced and production-focused. Key responsibilities include:

• Organize, sort, and process incoming DNA samples according to daily production schedules
• Perform DNA extraction, purification, and library preparation for Sanger and Oxford Nanopore workflows
• Load, operate, and monitor sequencing instruments (e.g., ABI 3730xl and Oxford Nanopore platforms)
• Maintain accurate production records, batch documentation, and quality logs
• Support quality control activities and troubleshoot sequencing runs to meet throughput targets
• Follow established SOPs and comply with laboratory quality systems

What We’re Looking For

Required and preferred qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Chemistry, or a related field
• Ability to follow procedures, maintain records, and comply with quality systems
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
• Hands-on molecular biology experience with PCR, DNA extraction, and purification preferred
• Experience with DNA sequencing workflows or ABI 3730xl instruments highly desirable
• Authorization to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship
• Attention to detail and ability to work under production deadlines

Compensation & Estimates

• Market estimate shown on source: approximately $41,504 per year (estimated). Actual pay will depend on experience and other factors and will be confirmed by Confidential Client during the hiring process.
