What You’ll Do

You will design, plan, and help manage electrical distribution systems that deliver safe, reliable power to residential, commercial, and industrial customers. This is a hands-on engineering role with responsibilities across design, analysis, project coordination, and field interaction for a confidential client in the Energy, Oil & Gas industry.

  • Design and optimize distribution systems (overhead/underground lines, transformers, substations).
  • Perform load flow, fault, and voltage-drop analysis to evaluate network performance.
  • Specify and select distribution equipment (transformers, breakers, switches, protection devices).
  • Maintain asset records, perform condition assessments, and recommend repairs or replacements.
  • Support new customer connections: evaluate impact and design required infrastructure.
  • Lead or support distribution infrastructure projects and coordinate with construction crews, contractors, and vendors.
  • Respond to outages and emergency events with rapid assessments and restoration plans.
  • Analyze data from monitoring systems and sensors to identify reliability and performance improvements.
  • Ensure designs and work comply with safety standards, environmental rules, and applicable codes; coordinate with regulators as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (required).
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred where applicable.
  • Entry-level candidates with relevant internships or co-op experience will be considered.
  • Experience with CAD, GIS, and distribution modeling/simulation software is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work onsite and participate in field evaluations and project coordination.

Details

  • Position type: Contract (with potential for ongoing assignments with the confidential client).
  • Experience level: Entry Level.
  • Workplace: Fully onsite in Remlap, AL.
  • Pay range: $33.00 - $44.00 per hour. Individual pay within this range will depend on qualifications, experience, job knowledge, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
