Overview

This listing is for a Distribution Engineer (Entry-level to Engineer II) to support design, development, and management of electrical power distribution systems for a confidential client in the Engineering industry. This is a 12-month engagement (full-time) based in Reform, AL. Compensation: $48.00 per hour.


What You’ll Do

  • Design and plan electrical power distribution systems, including overhead and underground power lines and related infrastructure
  • Perform technical studies such as load flow analysis, fault analysis, and voltage drop calculations
  • Analyze and optimize distribution networks for efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness
  • Support project lifecycle activities: planning, design, implementation, commissioning, and maintenance
  • Monitor schedules, budgets, and deliverables to help ensure projects complete on time and within budget
  • Ensure designs and installations comply with applicable safety standards, codes, regulations, and environmental guidelines
  • Identify opportunities for system upgrades, replacements, and preventive maintenance
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of designs and project execution
  • Maintain accurate drawings, records, reports, and related documentation
  • Promote and enforce safety procedures for employees, contractors, and the public
  • Collaborate with engineers, field technicians, project managers, and other cross-functional teams
  • Provide technical support and respond to customer or client inquiries related to distribution systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • This role may be filled at the entry-level or Engineer II level depending on experience
  • Experience in electrical distribution engineering is preferred for more experienced candidates
  • Familiarity or proficiency with distribution system design software and analysis tools is a plus
  • Knowledge of industry standards, electrical codes, and regulatory requirements is a plus
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills
  • Project management experience (planning, budgeting, execution) is preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
  • Ability to adapt to evolving technologies, systems, and industry practices

Preferred / Experienced Candidate Profile

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in distribution system design, technical analysis, regulatory compliance, and project management
  • Comfortable managing complex projects and improving network performance to meet operational and customer needs

Location & Logistics

  • Location: Reform, AL (must be able to work on-site / local travel as required)
  • Note: Candidates must currently live in the Tuscaloosa/Northport area or be willing to relocate. No per diem will be provided.
  • Employment type: Full-time, 12-month engagement (contract)
  • Compensation: $48.00 per hour (as provided)
