Position Overview

Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is seeking a Distribution Coordinator II to manage day-to-day warehouse and account operations at a Logistics & Warehouse site in San Antonio, TX. This role oversees inventory processing, supports drivers and temporary staff, maintains safety and quality controls, and helps drive improvements in efficiency and service.


What You’ll Do

You will be responsible for operational leadership and hands-on support to ensure timely, accurate, and safe processing of goods.

  • Manage daily warehouse operations, including receipt, inventory control, material handling, and shipping.
  • Oversee and coordinate temporary contracted workers, carriers, and company drivers.
  • Ensure operations comply with internal controls, safety standards, and customer requirements.
  • Monitor and communicate ETA changes, manage freight exceptions, and resolve routing or delivery issues.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment; promote a positive safety culture.
  • Perform administrative tasks: payroll support, budget tracking, safety event reviews, defect documentation, invoicing, and operational reporting.
  • Measure and report KPIs; recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and profitability.
  • Train, orient, and support warehouse personnel and help with staffing gaps or special projects as needed.
  • Assist on the floor with loading/unloading and yard management when required.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications

  • High school diploma / GED.
  • 2–3 years’ experience in transportation, logistics, warehouse operations, business administration, account management, or equivalent military experience.
  • Ability to work multiple shifts (including nights/weekends) and be on-call when required.
  • Strong customer-service orientation and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze situations, make informed decisions, and resolve conflicts.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 1–2 years’ experience in distribution or warehouse operations and experience training others.
  • Experience with inventory systems, yard management, and KPI reporting.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements (lifting/moving up to 100 pounds).

Location & Schedule

  • Location: San Antonio, TX
  • Shift: Sunday–Thursday, 1:00 PM – 11:00 PM (may require flexibility for other shifts)
  • Occasional travel for training, meetings, or account coverage may be required.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation is based on skills, experience, and location. This role may be eligible for annual bonuses or incentives based on profitability or volume targets.
