Role Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Display Electrical Engineer (Display Electrical Engineer 1) to join their Displays team in Cedar Rapids, IA. This hands-on engineering role focuses on designing, testing, integrating, qualifying, and documenting electrical hardware for avionics and ground-vehicle display systems. This is an onsite, full-time role with contractor classification also listed; relocation eligibility may apply.


What You’ll Do

  • Design, test, analyze, integrate, qualify, and document new electrical hardware for display subsystems.
  • Develop, test, and document engineering changes to existing hardware designs.
  • Use lab equipment (oscilloscopes, VNAs, DMMs, signal generators) to characterize, debug, and validate circuits.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, systems, and cross-functional teams during integration, pre-qualification, and qualification phases.
  • Support generation and release of technical documentation and drawings.
  • Participate in environmental and integration testing to ensure product qualification.

Qualifications — You Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM major completed by start date.
  • Coursework, projects, or experience with digital electronics, mixed-signal circuits, circuit design/analysis, electrical components, DSP, or PCB design.
  • Hands-on experience using electronic test and measurement equipment (oscilloscope, VNA, DMM, signal generators) for circuit characterization and debugging.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset; ability to learn and apply new display technologies and engineering methods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CAD layout tools (e.g., Siemens Expedition) or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with electrical hardware documentation/drawing standards.
  • Experience or coursework in display technologies (image processing, LCD drivers, graphics engines, touchscreens).
  • Prior internship, co-op, or relevant industry experience (including prior work with aerospace/defense suppliers).
  • Project experience in design verification, environmental qualification, or product integration.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $57,200 — $108,800 USD (good-faith estimate across experience levels).
  • Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits vary by business unit and employment terms.
  • Eligible employees may also be considered for annual short- and/or long-term incentive programs (dependent on role level and company performance).
  • Relocation eligibility may be available.

Location & Eligibility

  • Work location: Cedar Rapids, IA — onsite at the client’s facility.
  • This role requires the candidate to be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or other protected individual as defined by applicable federal regulations).
  • Security clearance is not required for this position. Some in-person steps of the hiring process may be required at client office locations.
