Role overview

Confidential Client is seeking a compassionate Direct Support Professional to provide hands-on behavioral and daily living support to children and adolescents in a residential behavioral healthcare program located in Kennesaw, GA. This is a full-time position with primary need for 2nd shift coverage (2:30pm–11:00pm). Starting pay: $20.00/hr (additional pay may be available based on experience).

Key responsibilities

• Provide emotional and behavioral support, mentoring, coaching, monitoring and positive redirection for youth in treatment.
• Assist with daily living activities, including health and hygiene, meal support, recreational activities and maintaining a safe environment.
• Complete accurate, timely documentation (shift reports, incident reports, individual progress notes) using in-house computer systems.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team — nursing, education, therapists and psychiatry — to follow individualized treatment plans and evidence-based, trauma-informed care.
• Participate in training, supervision and team meetings to support consistent, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred (psychology, human services, social work, education or related fields).
• Previous experience with children/adolescents who have behavioral or mental health needs preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license, satisfactory background check and drug screen required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and comfort using computer applications for documentation.
• Ability to attend a paid two-week new-hire orientation (approximately 8:30am–5:30pm daily).

Compensation & schedule

• Starting pay: $20.00 per hour (experience-based increases may apply).
• Primary shift need: 2nd shift (2:30pm–11:00pm).
• Full-time employment; schedule may include evenings, weekends and occasional overtime depending on program needs.
