What You’ll Do

  • Provide high-quality direct care and daily support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential settings.
  • Offer guidance during skills-building activities and help implement individualized treatment/support plans.
  • Assist with daily living tasks including meal preparation, money management, medical appointments, and personal care.
  • Maintain appropriate staff-to-client ratios and observe safety protocols at all times.
  • Build and promote supportive relationships; help residents sustain and expand social networks and community connections.
  • Communicate clearly with team members and confidential client supervisors about resident needs and progress.

What You’ll Need

  • Education:
    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 0–6 years related experience (depending on DSP level) supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, or experience in mental health, special education, elder care, or other human services settings.
  • Certifications & Skills:
    • Must have or be able to obtain a valid Massachusetts driver’s license.
    • Must be or be able to become MAP certified.
    • CPR/First Aid certification required within five months of hire (training provided).
    • Reliable, empathetic, and able to follow care plans and safety procedures.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Employment type: Part-time and full-time opportunities available (primary listing: PART_TIME).
  • Work location: Boston, MA (worksites across the Boston area; please indicate preferred location and shift).
  • Pay: $20.00–$22.00 per hour (base). $2.00/hour differential for high-intensity programs.
  • Flexible shifts — day, evening, and overnight options may be available depending on the site.
