Direct Service Worker
The Direct Service Worker supports individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges by supervising daily activities, providing guidance, and assisting with medication and finances. This role involves collaborating with a team to implement individualized plans aimed at increasing client independence and community integration, while ensuring a safe and supportive environment.

What You’ll Do
You will provide direct care and daily supervision to program residents with behavioral health and/or substance use challenges. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will follow individualized plans to support independence, safety, and community integration.
- Supervise and support residents’ daily activities, modeling positive behaviors
- Follow and document progress against individualized treatment plans
- Monitor and document medication administration
- Assist residents with finances, appointments, and community access
- Provide linkage to program staff and external service providers
- Deliver interventions that build skills and move clients toward identified goals
- Maintain a clean, safe, and home-like environment
- Remain alert during shifts and perform crisis intervention or access emergency services as needed
- Attend weekly staff and treatment meetings and complete required paperwork on time
Schedule & Compensation
- Starting rate: $18.50 / hour
- Schedule: Sunday and Thursday 8:00 AM–4:00 PM; Monday–Wednesday 2:00 PM–10:00 PM
- Employment type: Full-time
Who You Are / Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred OR High School Diploma plus 1 year related experience
- Experience in behavioral health, direct care, or community support preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, judgment, coaching, and communication skills
- Ability to use basic computer applications for documentation and communication
- Must hold a valid driver’s license, have access to an operational and insured vehicle, and be willing to transport clients as needed
- Commitment to serving culturally diverse populations and practicing person-centered care
- Willingness to attend and maintain certification for required trainings (CPR/First Aid, Crisis Management, Medication Administration/Protocols as required)
