Direct Service Worker
The Direct Service Worker supports individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges by supervising daily activities, providing guidance, and assisting with medication and finances. This role involves collaborating with a team to implement individualized plans aimed at increasing client independence and community integration, while ensuring a safe and supportive environment.

What You’ll Do
As a Direct Service Worker you will provide hands-on support to program residents experiencing mental health and/or substance use challenges. You will work on a team to help residents build independence and meet individualized goals.
- Supervise and support residents' daily activities and routines
- Follow and contribute to individualized treatment plans; attend weekly staff and treatment meetings
- Document progress toward treatment goals and maintain accurate daily notes and reports
- Provide coaching, guidance, role modeling and direct interventions to develop life skills
- Monitor and document medication administration and follow medication protocols
- Assist residents with basic finances and community integration efforts
- Maintain a safe, clean, and home-like environment for residents
- Provide crisis intervention and coordinate emergency services when required
- Participate in required training and maintain certifications (CPR/First Aid, Crisis Management, MAP)
- Remain alert and responsive during assigned shifts
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree or one year of related experience preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, judgment, coaching and communication skills
- Ability to use basic computer applications for documentation and communication
- Must hold a valid driver’s license, have access to an operational and insured vehicle, and be willing to transport clients when needed
- Demonstrated cultural competence and ability to serve diverse populations preferred
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-centered, team-focused environment
Schedule & Compensation
- Starting rate: $18.50 per hour (as listed by the client)
- Schedule: Monday–Thursday 8:00 AM–4:00 PM and Sunday 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
- Employment type: Full-time
