Direct Service Worker
The Direct Service Worker supports individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges by supervising daily activities, providing guidance, and assisting with medication and finances. This role involves collaborating with a team to implement individualized plans aimed at increasing client independence and community integration, while maintaining a safe and supportive environment.

What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring a Direct Service Worker to provide in-home and program-based support for adults experiencing mental health and/or substance use challenges. This is an entry-level, full-time role on a blended shift schedule. Your focus will be on safety, skill-building, and helping residents increase independence through person-centered supports.
- Supervise and support daily activities of program residents following individualized plans
- Provide ongoing guidance, role modeling and coaching to promote skill development
- Monitor and document medication administration and residents’ mental status
- Assist with basic financial tasks and community integration activities
- Participate in treatment planning, document progress toward goals, and communicate changes to the team
- Maintain a clean, safe, home-like environment and remain alert during shifts
- Provide crisis intervention and access emergency services when necessary
- Attend required trainings and maintain certifications (CPR/First Aid, Crisis Management, MAP)
Schedule & Compensation
- Starting rate: $18.50 / hour
- Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday — combination of 8:00 AM–4:00 PM and 2:00 PM–10:00 PM shifts
- Employment type: Full-time

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree OR High School Diploma plus one year related experience is acceptable.
- Excellent interpersonal, judgment, and coaching skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Able to use basic computer applications for documentation and reporting
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, client-centered, team-oriented environment
- Strong preference for candidates experienced serving culturally diverse populations
Requirements & Logistics
- Must hold a valid driver’s license, have access to a reliable, insured vehicle and be willing to transport clients as needed
- Ability to remain alert and responsive throughout scheduled shifts
- Complete and maintain required certifications and trainings (CPR/First Aid, Crisis Management, MAP)
- Must complete required paperwork and training within expected timelines
