Role overview
Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is hiring an entry-level Digital Frontend Engineer (Software Engineer I) to join a team building a modern, unified digital platform. This role focuses on contributing to platform features, backend services, and APIs while developing foundational engineering skills. Location: Indiana, PA (remote work model).
What You’ll Do
- Write, test, and debug code for applications, backend services, and APIs.
- Contribute to delivery of platform features that power customer and business experiences.
- Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and QA teams to deliver functional, reliable software.
- Build foundational capability for scalable, cloud-based engineering environments.
- Learn platform architecture, service interactions, and engineering patterns to grow into independent ownership.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline OR equivalent practical experience.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience (internships, academic projects, or early career roles).
- Foundational knowledge of software engineering principles, including object-oriented programming and data structures.
- Basic understanding of APIs, application architecture, and databases.
- Ability to write, test, and debug code in at least one language (Java preferred).
- Familiarity with SQL and data handling.
- Willingness to accept and incorporate feedback to improve performance and output.
Success Metrics / Key Performance Indicators
- Quality and reliability of code delivered (defect rates, rework).
- Growing foundational knowledge of engineering principles and platform design.
- Ability to complete assigned work with diminishing supervision.
- Effective collaboration across cross-functional teams.

- Estimated base pay: $82,910 per year (estimated).
