About the role

The Digital Experience Designer I is an entry-level, hands-on design and implementation role with Confidential Client’s digital experience team. You will help determine audience needs, design clear and engaging content, build the experience in supported digital-signage and web tools, test it in the intended environment, and support customers and teammates during handoff.

This role carries assignments from concept through implementation, testing, documentation, training, and delivery with regular direction and review as you develop independence.

What you’ll do

  • Review project requirements and identify audience needs; ask clarifying questions about content, setting, and constraints before designing.
  • Organize content and design layouts, graphics, motion, video, data displays, or interfaces required by each project.
  • Explain design decisions and iterate based on feedback.
  • Build and configure content in supported digital-signage and content-management platforms following team methods.
  • Learn and apply basic web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and perform browser testing to build simple web content with guidance.
  • Produce early samples for review; test on target screens, players, and browsers for resolution, orientation, and schedules; resolve issues and re-test.
  • Document work so teammates can support or update it. Prepare and deliver training (walkthroughs, guides, recordings) as assigned.
  • Communicate progress, missing information, and risks to the team; obtain approvals before releasing customer-facing work.
  • Reuse lessons learned and suggest process improvements for recurring tasks.

What you bring

Required

  • A bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communication, interaction design, digital media design, or a closely related design-focused discipline.
  • A portfolio demonstrating hierarchy, typography, composition, color, consistency, and information organization for an audience. Be prepared to explain assignments and iterations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; attention to detail; ability to collaborate with customers and technical teammates.
  • Willingness and ability to learn unfamiliar software and technical tools, accept feedback, and follow through on assigned tasks.

Preferred

  • Experience with digital signage, content-management systems, web-content tools, presentation systems, or low-code/no-code platforms.
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, or JavaScript.
  • Design experience with motion, video, interactive content, data visualization, or content for physical spaces and audio-visual systems.

Level & expectations

  • Own assigned work within a project while learning established methods and tools under regular review from experienced team members and leadership.
  • Ask for clarification when objectives, priorities, or authority are unclear.
  • Obtain approval before releasing customer-facing work.
  • Learn from feedback, apply it to later work, and become increasingly independent.
