Summary
Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is hiring an entry-level Digital Assurance & Transparency (DAT) — Data Associate in Boston, MA. This role supports assurance and technology engagements by turning data into audit-quality insights. Ideal candidates are early-career professionals or recent graduates who want hands-on experience with auditing, data analysis, Python, and Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools within IT-focused assurance teams.
Responsibilities
- Support client engagements on digital assurance and technology projects
- Perform data analysis to enhance financial and non-financial reporting processes
- Use Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools and Python to extract, transform, and analyze datasets
- Assist in evaluating internal controls and compliance with regulatory standards
- Contribute to audit procedures, documentation, and deliverables under senior staff guidance
- Apply intellectual curiosity to identify efficiencies and data-driven recommendations
- Collaborate across teams to deliver reliable, high-quality client support
- Build professional relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Management Information Systems, Business Analytics, Computer & Information Science, Information Technology, Business Administration/Management, Computer Programming, or a related field
- Minimum 3.0 overall GPA
- Entry-level / client service associate: candidates should be finishing or have finished their final academic year
- Basic familiarity with Python or SQL (coursework, projects, or internships)
Preferred / What Sets You Apart
- 3.5+ overall GPA
- Educational eligibility to sit for the CPA exam or meet CISA educational requirements in your intended state of employment (by start date)
- Practical experience using Python and Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools for data analysis
- Demonstrated intellectual curiosity, adaptability, and strong communication skills
- Experience applying AI tools or automation to improve workflows (preferred)
- Team-oriented mindset with attention to detail
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $53,500 — $104,000 (actual pay within range depends on experience, qualifications, and location)
- Eligible for annual discretionary bonus
- Benefits typically include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid holidays, vacation, and personal/family sick leave (details provided by the client)
Location & Work Authorization
- Job location: Boston, MA (on-site / client determines remote/telecommute arrangements)
