What You’ll Do
The Registered Dietitian Specialist I provides clinical nutrition services in inpatient and/or outpatient settings. Core responsibilities include:
- Complete timely nutrition assessments and reassessments for inpatients and outpatients.
- Develop and implement individualized nutrition intervention plans to improve patient outcomes.
- Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients, families, and caregivers.
- Mentor and supervise dietetic technicians and serve as a clinical preceptor for dietetic students and other health-care team members.
- Document care accurately in electronic medical records and maintain compliance with clinical policies.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team rounds, quality improvement initiatives, and equipment troubleshooting/calibration as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or a related field required.
- Certification from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (RD or RDN) required.
- Entry-level clinical nutrition knowledge in area of specialty.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; Spanish proficiency preferred.
- Proficiency with computers and clinical documentation software.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and perform basic math functions accurately.
- Ability to meet the physical and sensory demands of the role (e.g., visual and olfactory discrimination, tactile sensitivity); reasonable accommodations available.
