What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking a knowledgeable and compassionate Dietitian to join their Food Services / Clinical Nutrition team in South Miami, FL. You will provide nutrition assessment, education, intervention, and monitoring for hospitalized patients while working closely with physicians, nursing staff, Food Services personnel, and the interdisciplinary care team.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and develop individualized care plans
  • Provide medical nutrition therapy (MNT) for acute and chronic conditions
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure nutrition interventions align with physician orders and patient needs
  • Monitor and document nutrition care, progress, and outcomes in the electronic medical record
  • Assist with therapeutic menu planning and diet modifications for clinical populations
  • Support quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and safe food-service practices
  • Deliver patient and family education in a clear, culturally sensitive manner
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care conferences as needed

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Dietetics, Nutrition, Food and Nutrition, or a related accredited field
  • Completion of an accredited supervised dietetic practice (internship) or equivalent qualifying professional experience

Licensure & Certification

  • Current and active Florida Dietitian/Nutritionist license required
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association)
  • Licenses and registrations must remain active and in good standing throughout employment

Preferred Experience

  • One (1)+ years as a Registered Dietitian in an acute-care hospital, rehab, or similar clinical setting (entry-level RDs meeting licensure requirements may be considered)
  • Experience providing MNT to hospitalized patients, including therapeutic diets and nutrition support
  • Experience with enteral/parenteral nutrition principles
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and clinical documentation

  • Strong clinical nutrition knowledge and medical nutrition therapy skills
  • Ability to interpret lab results and integrate clinical data into nutrition care plans
  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets and food-service standards in healthcare settings
  • Excellent assessment, critical-thinking, and clinical decision-making skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication; patient education abilities
  • Ability to prioritize multiple patients in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to documentation accuracy and confidentiality
  • Cultural competence in delivering nutrition care to diverse populations
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications and EMR systems
