Confidential Client is hiring a Pediatric Dietitian (inpatient & outpatient coverage) for a full-time contract role in Sioux Falls, SD. This role provides medical nutrition therapy across pediatric inpatient units and a children's specialty clinic, collaborating with specialized RDs and the broader multidisciplinary care team.
What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking a patient-focused Registered Dietitian to plan, develop, and deliver nutrition care and medical nutrition therapy for patients across pediatric inpatient and outpatient settings.
Provide clinical nutrition services and nutrition education across age groups, with a focus on pediatric patients.
- Plan and implement individualized nutrition care plans based on assessments and provider orders.
- Deliver medical nutrition therapy (oral, enteral/parenteral support as appropriate), diet modifications, and nutrition-focused counseling.
- Monitor and document nutritional status, progress, and outcomes; adjust plans using evidence-based practice.
- Support chronic disease self-management education and caregiver training.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other RDs on nutrition protocols and standards of care.
- Participate in clinical performance improvement, quality control, and infection prevention practices.
- Tailor education and materials to cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences of patients and families.
Who You Are / Qualifications
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, food & nutrition from an ACEND-accredited program. (Note: After Jan 1, 2024 ACEND requires a master’s for those taking the registration exam; prior entrants may hold a bachelor’s degree.)
- Completion of an approved coordinated undergraduate program or internship (clinical nutrition experience required).
- Registered Dietitian (RD) credential required; registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
- For candidates awaiting exam results, proof of temporary/limited permit (where applicable) or registry-eligible status may be considered; employer may allow two exam attempts within three months of hire.
- Strong clinical assessment skills, ability to develop care plans, and experience with pediatric nutrition preferred.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills; ability to educate patients, families, and staff.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement.
Compensation & Work Details
- Pay range: $26.00 - $41.50 per hour.
- Employment type: Full time; Contract.
- Scheduled weekly hours: 32 hours.
- Work shift: Day shifts (primarily).
- Union position: No.
- Location: Sioux Falls, South Dakota (on-site clinical position covering inpatient pediatric unit and a children’s specialty clinic).
