What You’ll Do

Provides medical nutrition therapy using evidence-based practice to optimize patient care for assigned clinical areas. You will consult with the healthcare team to ensure efficient, effective nutrition care; monitor and evaluate nutrition outcomes; and educate patients, staff, interns, and community members.

• Provides direct patient care using medical nutrition therapy for assigned patient populations.
• Completes nutrition assessments (including Nutrition-Focused Physical Assessments as indicated) and develops appropriate nutrition diagnoses and interventions.
• Documents accurate, timely information in the patient’s electronic health record.
• Develops and delivers education programs for patients, families, physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, students, and dietetic interns; serves as a preceptor when assigned.
• Participates in quality improvement and process-improvement initiatives within Nutrition Services.
• Maintains a patient-centered, service-oriented approach while meeting clinical competency expectations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree).
• Completed a CDR‑approved dietetic internship qualifying you to sit for the Registered Dietitian exam, or entry-level dietitian registration-eligible.
• Basic computer skills with demonstrated familiarity with Microsoft Office and electronic health records.
• Strong communication and instructional skills for patient and staff education.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary care team.

• Schedule: Part-time hours (as defined by the client)
• Location: Farmville, VA (on-site)
• Salary range: $62,462 - $93,693 per year (provided by client)
