Position Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Dietitian Nutritionist I to join the clinical nutrition team at a partner hospital in Queens (Flushing, NY). This full-time, individual-contributor role delivers evidence-based nutrition care using the Nutrition Care Process and supports interdisciplinary care for patients and residents in an acute-care setting.


What You’ll Do

  • Deliver individualized nutrition assessment, diagnosis, intervention, monitoring, and evaluation using the Nutrition Care Process.
  • Provide nutrition counseling and education to patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
  • Serve as a nutrition resource for foodservice staff and clinical teams to support safe, high-quality care.
  • Document care in clinical nutrition systems and maintain accurate, compliant records.
  • Participate in performance improvement projects to improve clinical outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to team training and professional development activities.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Master’s degree in nutrition, dietetics, or a related field with ACEND-required coursework and supervised practice — OR
    • For candidates eligible prior to 01/01/2024: Bachelor’s degree that meets ACEND requirements.
  • Credentials:
    • Eligible for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) credential via CDR and must become registered within 120 days of hire.
    • Must meet state licensure/certification requirements at time of hire where applicable (New York requirements apply for this role).
  • Experience:
    • Management Experience: 0–1 years
    • Related Clinical Experience: 0–3 years
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency applying the Nutrition Care Process in clinical settings.
    • Strong verbal and written communication; ability to work across interdisciplinary teams.
    • Familiarity with clinical nutrition documentation systems and regulatory/ethical standards.
    • Commitment to continuous professional development and quality improvement.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay range: $67,405 – $87,230 per year.
    • Salary offers are based on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and training.
