Dietitian (Full Time, Lynchburg PACE)
The Dietitian provides medical nutrition therapy and consultation to optimize patient care within a clinical setting. Responsibilities include conducting nutrition assessments, developing individualized care plans, educating patients and healthcare professionals, and participating in process improvement activities to ensure effective nutrition services.

What You’ll Do
Provides medical nutrition therapy using evidence-based practice to optimize patient care in a PACE care setting. You will consult with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure effective nutrition care, monitor and evaluate nutrition outcomes, and educate patients, staff, and community members. You will also participate in department process-improvement activities and maintain a patient-centered approach at all times.
- Provide direct patient care using medical nutrition therapy for assigned patient populations.
- Conduct nutrition assessments (including Nutrition-Focused Physical Assessments as indicated) and establish nutrition diagnoses.
- Develop and implement individualized nutrition interventions and care plans.
- Document relevant, accurate, and timely information in the patient’s electronic health record.
- Develop and maintain a professional portfolio demonstrating growth, competencies, and performance indicators.
- Educate patients, physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, students, and the public; serve as a preceptor for dietetic interns.
- Participate in continuous process improvement activities within Nutrition Services.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree).
- Completion of a CDR‑approved dietetic internship to qualify for the Registered Dietitian exam, or entry-level Dietitian who is registration eligible.
- Basic computer skills and demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication, documentation, and patient‑education skills.
- Commitment to a patient-centered, collaborative care environment.
Compensation & Employment Details
- Employment type: Full time; Contractor status noted in original posting.
- Salary range (provided by client): $62,462 - $93,693 per year.
- Location: Madison Heights, VA (position serves the local PACE population).
